LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - MSU Federal Credit Union is awarding $30,000 in grants to organizations across Michigan.

One local recipient is MyPlace Inc., a transitional living facility for young adults aging out of foster care, which received a $5,000 grant.

The organization said the funding will be used to purchase four new laptops and expand financial literacy programming for residents. The additional support will help participants develop skills in budgeting, banking, credit management and long-term financial planning.

“MyPlace is thrilled to receive this grant that will help us to further enable our residents, especially in the area of financial literacy,” said Amber McKee, Executive Director. “MyPlace equips young adults with the skills needed for independent living, including employment readiness, financial literacy, and daily life skills. Together with the MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation’s support, this work strengthens long-term stability, helping young adults move forward with confidence, improved health, and connection to community.”
