Lifeways mental health agency honors clients and providers at annual event
LANSING, Mich. (NEWS 10) -People fighting mental illness, addiction and intellectual or developmental disabilities were front and center on Thursday.
It was a celebration of recovery for the Lifeways mental health facilities in Jackson and Hillsdale counties.
Lifeways held its annual celebration and awards event, honoring both the people receiving services and the providers who support them.
The agency says its goal is life-enhancing recovery and helping people reach their own goals. It calls itself a public safety net for people in mental health crisis or needing a higher level of support.
“The only reason that we are here is for the recovery of the individuals that we serve. And so all of the work that we do is with the assumption that people can recover, and people can achieve their goals and their dreams. And so that starts not only with the individuals seeking services, but also with the providers and the staff members who actually provide those services,” said Cassandra Watson, Lifeways chief executive officer.
