Spirit Halloween awards nearly $100k grant to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Halloween still a long ways away, but a special donation is already being delivered to children in need.
Spirit Halloween’s “Spirit of Children” program has awarded a nearly $100,000 grant to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow.
The program raises money for children’s hospitals in the U.S. and Canada.
“Our Child Life specialists help with distraction for what is obviously a very stressful time for children to get them through painful or worrisome sorts of procedures,” said Steve Martin, a pediatric intensivist at UM Health-Sparrow. “The donations from Spirit Halloween go specifically to our Child Life experts to help with those sorts of things.”
Spirit Halloween has raised more than $1 million to support C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital since 2007.
