Man killed in early morning stabbing in Leoni Twp., suspect arrested

LEONI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - One person is dead after a stabbing in Jackson County early Monday.

On July 8, just before 4 a.m., Blackman-Leoni officials said they were called out to the 3000 block on E. Michigan Avenue in Leoni Township for a stabbing. When police arrived, they found a 42-year-old man with stab wounds. Officers and medical personnel provided treatment to the victim on scene but the man died from his injuries. The suspect fled the area prior to first responders arriving on scene.

Just before 2 p.m. on July 8, a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection to the stabbing. He was found in Ann Arbor.

Police said the incident appears to be domestically related.

Officials said there is no threat to the public.
