Lansing motorcyclist in critical condition after crash that killed dog

A Lansing Motorcycle Driver is in the hospital in critical condition after hitting a dog and crashing on Lansing's south side.

The accident happened late Wednesday, just before midnight on Martin Luther King Jr, near Cavanaugh.

Lansing police say the dog did not survive. It is not clear if the dog darted out in front of the biker, or if the biker swerved to avoid hitting the dog.

Police say the man was not wearing a helmet. The road was shut down for hours this morning while police investigated the crash.
