A special thanks to Sparrow Caregivers and the community

Sparrow couldn’t do what it does without its Caregivers. On behalf of Sparrow, Sparrow Health System President and CEO James F. Dover is publicly thanking Sparrow’s 9,000 Caregivers during this extraordinary time. "The work going on behind the scenes is nothing short of extraordinary, from making sure we have enough masks to picking up donations and lending a helping hand when someone needs it most," Dover says.
Sparrow is more than a healthcare system. It’s also a community of caring, innovation, and commitment. For example, Sparrow Health System’s award-winning laboratory is proud to be the only Mid-Michigan laboratory processing its own COVID-19 tests, 24/7. There are thousands of examples everyday in which Sparrow’s Caregivers live Sparrow’s mission to provide quality compassionate care to everyone, every time.
Now more than ever, Sparrow Providers and Caregivers remain vigilant and are working around the clock to protect against the spread of Coronavirus. Our top priority is the health, safety and welfare of our community. Sparrow is here to help – it’s what Sparrow has done for 124 years. And, remember, as the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, Sparrow is prepared 24/7/365 to respond to the region’s critical care needs.
Sparrow also wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community for its incredible generosity and support as we navigate these challenging times.
We’ve received thousands of masks, gowns, and other items, and heartfelt messages, like the anonymous note we received with a donation saying, "To those keeping the country alive – There are no words to express my gratitude so all I will say is stay safe, stay healthy and God Bless. A grateful citizen."
Sparrow is accepting items at the old Eastern High School, 220 N. Pennsylvania, Lansing. Visit
