Jackson County Deputies find 2 illegal guns while investigating vehicle

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - Jackson County deputies found two illegal handguns while investigating a car they believe was in a recent shooting.
On Thursday at 10:22 p.m., deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office found a vehicle in Woodland Cemetery that they identified as being driven in a recent shooting in Summit Township.
Police said several people in the car were arrested and searched.
One of them was a 19-year-old man who had an empty handgun holster. This find led to a search of the vehicle, where police said they found two illegal handguns in the passenger compartment, with one stolen out of the City of Jackson.
Deputies said the 19-year-old was released from the scene, and charges will be forwarded to the prosecutor after further interviews.
