Lawyer to Minnesota governor: Launch investigation into clergy sex abuse

First Pennsylvania -- now Minnesota.
A lawyer Wednesday was calling on the governor to launch a statewide grand jury investigation into allegations of clergy sex abuse and cover-ups by Catholic bishops.
Surrounded by several accusers, attorney Jeff Anderson called out three dioceses for not publicly releasing their files on abusive priests.
He says he was inspired by the grand jury report released last week in Pennsylvania that found more than 300 Catholic priests had molested more than a thousand children.
"All the pledges, promises and policies made by the Vatican and the bishops in Minnesota haven't protected one kid. It's action that protects kids and that means requiring them to clean and the truth to be known. It's also going to require the sound of a jail door clanging shut behind a bishop or archbishop for them to get the message," Anderson said.
Anderson says the church is holding onto its secrets.
He says a thorough investigation is the only way to uncover the truth.
