Youmacon brings four days of anime, gaming and cosplay to Michigan

LANSING, Mich. (News 10) - Get ready for Michigan’s largest anime convention — Youmacon returns to Huntington Place Thursday through Sunday for four days of anime, gaming, cosplay and live entertainment. This year’s theme is Spirits and Shadows, timed perfectly for Halloween weekend, with attendees encouraged to dress up. Joining Studio 10 to share details was Tsuno Youma, Youmacon’s VTuber mascot, who explained VTubing as a virtual content creator using a digital avatar that moves, talks and blinks in real time.

Youmacon is described as Disney World for nerds, offering a space to celebrate gaming culture, meet like-minded friends, and explore over 300 vendors, artists and creators. Highlights include an artist alley and marketplace, cosplay competition, concerts, panels and workshops, plus a gaming hall. First-timers are encouraged to start at youmacon.com to view the map and itinerary and plan around panels and concerts, while keeping an open mind for surprises.
