Asphalt work to cause intermittent lane closures in mid-Michigan
LANSING, Mich. (News 10) - Drivers in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties can expect intermittent traffic delays beginning Monday as the Michigan Department of Transportation starts a series of asphalt preservation projects on several state roads.
Construction is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Monday and continue through Aug. 28. MDOT said drivers should expect intermittent single-lane closures in work zones.
Roads affected by the project include:
- Eastbound I-96 from Meridian Road to M-52 in Ingham County
- I-96 Business Loop (Grand River Avenue) from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Center Street in Ingham County
- M-21 from Fowler to St. Johns in Clinton County
- M-36 from Dexter Trail to Cedar Street in Ingham County
- M-43 (Grand River Avenue) from Park Lake Road to Washington Heights Avenue in Ingham County
- M-52 at M-36 in Ingham County
- M-100 from Strange Highway to Willow Highway in Eaton County
- M-100 from Front Street to Grand River Avenue in Eaton and Clinton counties
MDOT said the asphalt treatments are designed to extend the life of existing pavement and improve driving conditions.
