BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC/Gray News) — A private high school security guard is accused of having sexual intercourse with a student and letting the student hold his gun.

According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Austin Taylor Thompson, 29, is charged with sexual battery with a student 16 years of age and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The arrest warrant alleges that he had sexual intercourse with the May River High School student while he was employed as a private security officer with Coastal Security Services.

Thompson had sexual intercourse with the student three times after school hours and off school grounds in October of last year, authorities said.

The 29-year-old, who was providing indoor security for the high school, also allegedly gave his gun to the student after hours in front of other minors and allowed the student to have access to the gun while in his vehicle.

Thompson was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center.
