Michigan State University warns international students not to leave the U.S.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - An email sent by Michigan State University Tuesday afternoon is warning international students not to leave the U.S.
The email, sent from the Office of International Students and Scholars, “strongly advises” international MSU students not to leave the country due to ongoing immigration conflicts with the federal government.
International students outside the U.S. are advised to remain in ‘close contact’ with the embassy or consulate handling their case.
“Our current understanding is that previously scheduled visa interview appointments will proceed as planned. However, most embassies and consulates have suspended scheduling new appointments.”
“Out of an abundance of caution, OISS is currently advising international students not to leave the country,” an MSU spokesperson told News 10.
The email comes just days after the Trump Administration vowed to revoke the visas of many Chinese students. MSU has a significant Chinese student population.
