MSU says 12 students affected by I.C.E. shakeups had SEVIS records restored
EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University released a statement Monday, responding to the confusion around international students.
MSU says 12 students had their SERVIS records terminated. SEVIS records are different, separate entities from student visas.
“The Office of International Students and Scholars has confirmed that the SEVIS records of MSU students that were previously terminated have been restored. Students with questions about their record should contact the Office of International and Student Scholars (OISS) for assistance,” MSU spokesperson Amber McCann told News 10.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E) terminated several SEVIS records terminated during President Donald Trump’s first days in office.
Those terminations were reversed on Friday after multiple court challenges.

“OISS is closely monitoring updates regarding immigration and travel and will continue to communicate directly with MSU’s international students, scholars, and employees to keep them up to date should rules and guidance change,” McCann said.
