Schuler Books in Okemos relocating to former Bed Bath & Beyond

OKEMOS, Mich. (WILX) - Schuler Books in Okemos will be relocating and expanding its store directly across the hall.

When Bed Bath & Beyond moved out, management at Schuler Books, located at the Meridian Mall, saw the opportunity to move into the vacated space. The marketing coordinator for the business said the relocating will help expand the bookstore, cafe and the addition of a dedicated event space similar to the Grand Rapids location.

“We are delighted to further expand our roots in Okemos, and look forward to serving our customers in our current space until we complete the transition to our new store,” said management at Schuler Books in a press release sent on March 18. “We thank the Okemos and Lansing area community for supporting our mission of connecting people with books over the past 34 years. It’s due to their patronage that our independent bookstore continues to grow and thrive.”

Construction will take several months to complete. The new location is expected to open “sometime in the second half of 2024.”
