LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - For the second day in a row, a threat of violence impacted Mid-Michigan schools.

The day after MacDonald Middle School was closed due to a social media threat, a threat sent Wavery High School students home early Wednesday.

Authorities said an Apple Air Drop message to several students threatened active violence Wednesday morning.

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office said the students who received the Air Drop message on their iPhone alerted school staff, who put the school on lockdown.

School busses were sent to the school to take students home. Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office and the East Lansing Police Department assisted in the early student dismissal process and escorted students to their vehicles and buses.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office at 517-816-8199.
