The News 10 First Alert Weather Team is tracking the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday evening and has declared the day a First Alert Weather Day.
Currently, the mid-Michigan area is under an enhanced risk of severe weather due to storms brewing in Wisconsin and heading into southern lower Michigan tonight.
Another comfortable day with mostly sunny skies and highs near 80 degrees. Humidity levels rise Friday and thunderstorms pass through the area Friday night.
A tropical depression has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and forecasters warn it could become a tropical storm during the night or on Tuesday as it threatens to dump heavy rains over southern Mexico and parts of Central America.
Consumers Energy is warning customers that freezing rain forecast for Saturday “will likely lead to downed wires and power outages that could last several days.”
