Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek has released a statement about the possible data breach it's investigating.
The casino has yet to say when it happened or how many people were impacted by the security breach involving debit and credit card information.

STATEMENT FROM FIREKEEPERS CASINO - POSTED MAY 6
Firekeepers Casino Hotel is in the process of investigating a possible data security incident involving our point of sale systems. Your trust is a top priority for Firekeepers, and we deeply regret any concern this may cause. The privacy and protection of our customers’ information is a matter we take very seriously, and we are working swiftly to identify what may have occurred and resolve the incident.
As soon as we learned of the possible incident, we initiated an aggressive investigation, including immediately engaging independent IT forensic experts to assist us.
While the investigation continues, we took the additional step of installing new point of sale equipment to ensure our customers can use their credit and debit cards safely at the casino, hotel, and any restaurants or stores on Firekeepers’ property.
As of this moment, we do not have any further information. Additionally, law enforcement has been notified and Firekeepers is cooperating with their investigation.
