Turmeric For Treating Head and Neck Cancer

Preliminary research shows a component of a common kitchen spice could one day help treat head and neck cancers.
UCLA scientists say a synthetic version of turmeric -- helped kill cancer cells that were resistant to a commonly used chemotherapy drug.
They hope these results will lead to studies on humans ... as the disease affects more than 42-thousand Americans.
Head and neck cancers have a five year survival rates of 57-percent.
The study was led by researchers at UCLA and published in 'Oncotarget'
