The Transportation Security Administration is showing off its pre-check lane at Capital Region International Airport.
Travelers who are approved don't have to take off their shoes or belts for screenings and can leave liquids and laptops in their bags.
The T.S.A. says the pre-check process increases security.
"We're actually able to give that expedited screening experience because we know a little bit more about you," said Spokesman Michael McCarthy. "That's reverse of passengers we know less about. We can spend a little bit more time on them, and the passengers we know more about we can push into the TSA Pre-Check lane."
An application costs $85 and is good for five years.
