Democratic State Representative Gretchen Driskell of Washtenaw County announced Monday she will run for Michigan's 7th Congressional District seat, currently held by Republican Tim Walberg. Driskell is the former mayor of Saline. She said her campaign will focus on helping working families and improving the school system. Walberg won the seat in 2006, lost it to Mark Schauer during the Democratic wave of 2008 and then won it back in the 2010 Republican wave. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2014.
