Sparrow Breaks Ground For A New Facility

Lansing, MI - Another big day for Sparrow Hospital - it's breaking ground on a new health center in Lansing Township today.

The new health center, Sparrow Health Center Lansing, is just minutes from the Frandor Shopping Center.

Once finished, it will be a modern campus featuring a drive through pharmacy, lab, senior health services and much more.

It's been a busy year for Sparrow Hospital in terms of expansion.

In may, Sparrow broke ground on a brand new cancer center on Michigan Avenue in Lansing. That facility, which will house oncologists and support services, is set to be open in early 2017.

On top of that, the hospital just opened a Fast Care Clinic near Frandor in June.

That clinic offers prompt care for folks dealing with minor injuries or illnesses, in the hopes of keeping people out the emergency room.

The hospital also added more rehabilitation options for patients in June.

You'll find an SUV that serves as a physical therapy tool on the brand new Mary Free Bed Rehab Unit on the 6th floor of the main hospital.

This latest facility near Frandor will replace the former Medical Dental Building.

The Sparrow Health Center Lansing will be multiple levels, 70 thousand square feet. Sparrow says this newest health center will be a one stop shop for patients, all on a modern campus.

Patients will be able to visit their primary doctors, and even get ultra sounds, mammograms and more.

The new center is located at 2909 E. Grand River Avenue in Lansing.
