Peace Pole Installed in Honor of Refugees

By  |

A peace pole was unveiled at the Ingham Co. Dept. of Health and Human Services Thursday.

It's part of Refugee Awareness Week.

Each year, the United States accepts about 70,000 refugees forced to flee from their homes due to religious or political persecution.

The pole represents a message of thanks to refugees. It displays the words "May peace prevail on Earth" in 12 different languages.
