Someone shoved a young pit bull puppy in a sewer this week--- and Ingham County Animal Control is hoping you might know who did it.
It happened early Monday afternoon in Lansing, in the Princeton Street area. Witnesses told officers they saw a teen with the dog on a leash a few hours before. Witnesses describe him as a black male, about 6-feet tall with a thin build, who may go by the name "Keith".
The dog was very weak, had sores all over its body and was extremely thin and dehydrated when city maintenance crews pulled him from the sewer drain.
Animal control tells us he's already starting to improve, but he's got a long road of recovery ahead of him because of his skin condition.
If you know anything that can help Animal Control find the persona responsible, call 517-676-8370 or 517-676-8376 with information.
