Lansing, MI (WILX) - Early on the morning of April 25, 2016 Lansing Board of Water & Light were the victim of ransomware that came through a phishing virus that infected their corporate networks.
They say they immediately locked-down their corporate networks to protect the system while they started work on developing a solution. They are working with local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities.
No utility function has been lost during the attack and no personal customer information has been compromised.
Customers are still able to make payments through the online portal, walking into their customer service center, and at all kiosks.
