East Lansing, MI - It's a showdown Mid-Michigan has been waiting for. Ever since "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" wrapped filming in East Lansing in October 2014, the countdown has been on.
"I'm hoping that it turns out well for everything and the secrecy kind of works out," MSU student Nate Bazydlo told us in October.
Crews set up a red carpet, fake TV news crews and more to film a party scene at the Broad Art Museum in East Lansing.
We staked out with movie fans, even overnight, just to sneak a peek at filming.
Fans did catch glimpses of who source say was Wonder Woman at filming.
Extras from Mid-Michigan were on scene too, taking part in the super hero experience. Stylists from Douglas J Salon even got to do hair for the flick.
It's not just East Lansing with a starring role.
"I think when the movie comes out, there'll be a lot of people spotting those scenes, 'boy, that was East Lansing, that was the Broad or that was Detroit,'" Jack Schripsema, the President and CEO of the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau told us in October, "but it's all Michigan and it's all good."
Movie experts say this is just the beginning.
"It's not just one movie," says Anthony Breznican, a senior writer for Entertainment Weekly, "it's ten or more films that are going to branch off from Batman v Superman."
A lot of fans will pack theaters tonight for special screenings starting at 6 p.m. for a look at stars like Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill, but a lot of us will be searching for those familiar sites - lit up on the big screen.
