12:30PM UPDATE: According to the criminal complaint filed in 55th District Court, Dunnings is accused of willful neglect of duty and two counts of prostitution/engaging services of. All counts are misdemeanors. A willful neglect of duty charge carries a punishment of up to a year in jail and/or $1,000 fine. A prostitution charge carries a sentence of 93 days in jail and/or $500 fine. The defendant must also undergo AIDS/HIV testing.
Michigan's attorney general Bill Schuette will hold a press conference in Lansing today at 1:00 PM to discuss the arrest of Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings.
Prosecutor Dunnings was elected to the post in 1996. According to the automated Ingham County inmate system, he was arrested and accused of prostitution/pandering. There is no information available about bail at this time.
Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth will also be at the press conference and have more details on the charges that Dunnings will face.
