Suit Filed in Death of Joe Louis' Sister

A lawsuit has been filed in the death of the sister of Detroit boxing hero Joe Louis, five months after she froze outside a suburban assisted-living center.
Attorneys for Vunies High's estate say The Heatherwood was negligent by failing to stop the 92-year-old woman from wandering outside.
The lawsuit says High died of hypothermia on Feb. 18, her face stuck to ice on the ground in Southfield.
High's estate is seeking an unspecified amount of money exceeding $75,000. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in federal court in Detroit against Capital Senior Living Properties, operator of the assisted-living center.
David Brickman, general counsel for the Dallas-based company, is declining comment until he sees the lawsuit.
Louis was a heavyweight boxing champion who grew up in Detroit. He died in 1981.
