The New York Yankees won the first game of a doubleheader Thursday over the Tigers in Detroit 10-4. A second game is to follow 30 minutes later because of a postponement on Wednesday night due to weather. The Tigers won the series opener, 12-11 on Tuesday. With the loss the Tigers fall to 43-101 on the season with 18 games remaining. The Baltimore Orioles visit Detroit for four games beginning Friday night.
