LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame is preparing for its 2019 class and WILX's own, Tim Staudt is in the running.
Tim is in the category of Media Finalists.
Here's a little bio about Tim:
Tim Staudt grew up in East Lansing, Michigan attending East Lansing High School and then graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in journalism. He is in his 49th year as a sportscaster in the Lansing market-- longest running career in our state. He was the Sports Director at the former WJIM-TV in Lansing from 1970 until 1980 and has anchored the sportscasts at WILX in Lansing, since 1980. Staudt has hosted a number of coaches shows over the years and has hosted Big Ten Basketball play-by-play for more than 10 years. He has won numerous awards for service in the community and state and he has called games for the networks, hosted numerous coaches shows, etc. His Staudt on Sports daily radio show on WVFN AM is in its 26th year. Tim Staudt was inducted into the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
