Tigers' Homestand Ends With Another Loss

The Philadelphia Phillies completed a two game sweep of the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, winning a 4-0 matinee game at Comerica Park. The Phillies won late Tuesday in 15 innings, 3-2. The Tigers have now lost 13 consecutive series and they have a major league worst record of 30-67 with 65 games remaining. They open a ten game Western trip Thursday night at Seattle before heading to Anaheim then to Texas to face the Rangers. Jordan Zimmerman failed to last five innings as the Tigers' starting pitcher, gave up all four runs and his season record fell to 0-7.
