SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (WILX) -- It's been a busy but fun couple of days in San Francisco. While the focus is on the bowl game, the Spartans are able to take in the sights and sounds of the bay area.
The Spartans don't play in their bowl game until New Year's Eve, so they have some time to kill. Being in the bay area is a new experience for most of the team.
"Being from the Midwest is a bit of a difference, but the atmosphere and the people are great. The sightseeing is pretty amazing, for the most part," said Spartans wide-receiver Darell Stewart, a Michigan State junior.
The Spartans stopped in on the Golden State Warriors Thursday night and said hello to former Spartan Draymond Green. On Friday, they took a short trip to Alcatraz to take in some history. The free time they have on Saturday will be spent doing some good and helping out at a soup kitchen.
"There's a lot to see, and we're excited to be in San Francisco," said Connor Heyward, Spartans running back and MSU sophomore.
if you missed the bowl special, you can tune in again on New Year's Eve at noon before the big game.
