Snow days don't stop Williamston Hornets' momentum

FOWLERVILLE, Mich. (WILX) -- Like many local schools, the Williamston Hornets girls haven't played much lately. With having a game cancelled Tuesday, they've played only three games in three weeks.

"This week was a crazy week having all of the snow days," said head coach Pete Cool. "We had one practice. But Fowlerville had a ton of fight; they did not go away so credit them."

These two teams have history. The Gladiators beat the Hornets to end their season last year.

"It’s always kind of bitter between us and Fowlerville," said Senior Guard Allie Sherrer, who scored a game-high 13 points. "We wanted to beat them this year. They're an amazing team, and I know a lot of them, so it's a great win."

There's a chance they can meet in districts.

"It’s going to be a battle," said Cool. "Hopefully both teams are healthy going into districts, but we'll see what happens."

Next on the docket, the Hornets take on Ottawa Hills in a non-conference match up, and the Gladiators face conference rival Haslett.
