Report: Tigers trade RP Shane Greene to Braves pending physical.

LANSING, Mi According to multiple reports, the Detroit Tigers have traded relief pitcher Shane Greene to the Atlanta Braves pending a physical. The Athletic is reporting that the Braves will send LHP Joey Wentz and OF Travis Demeritte to the Tigers in the Shane Greene trade.

Wentz is a LHP and ranked as the 7th best prospect in their farm system according to MLB.com.

Demeritte is a former first-round draft pick (2013, Rangers) and has 20 home runs this season at AAA. He is also hitting (.286) this season.

Greene has put up sparkling number in 2019 as the Tigers closer. His 1.18 ERA is 2nd among relief pitchers in the MLB. His .87 WHIP is 8th among relievers. Greene has 22 saves on the season.
