No. 6 Michigan State Plays at Penn State Sunday Afternoon

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s men’s basketball team plays at Penn State on Sunday, Jan. 13, the first of four games out of the next five that are away from home for the Spartans.

The game will air live on CBS, with Tom McCarthy calling the play-by-play and Bill Raftery serving as the color analyst. The Spartans, ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press poll and No. 5 in the USA Today Coaches poll, have won nine-straight games and 14 of the last 15 overall. Junior guard Cassius Winston (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) scored a game-high 23 points and Michigan State pulled away from Purdue for a 77-59 win on Tuesday night ... Purdue cut MSU’s 13-point halftime lead to four in the second half, but a Winston layup helped push the lead back to 57-48 and the Boilermakers got no closer than seven points the rest of the way ... Largely in part to the defensive effort of Matt McQuaid (Duncanville, Texas/Duncanville), MSU held Purdue guard Carsen Edwards to a season-low 11 points on 3-of-16 shooting from the floor, including 2-of-13 from 3-point land ...
