New MSU Women's Basketball Coaches

Michigan State women's basketball coach Suzy Merchant added two new assistant coaches Wednesday. The new associate head coach is Dean Lockwood. He's been an assistant at Tennessee where head coach Holly Warlick was recently fired. He is a former men's head coach at Saginaw Valley State. Lockwood replaces Amaka Agugua Hamilton who left to become head coach at Missouri State. Former MSU star Kristin Haynie, a Mason native, is another new assistant coach. She played for the MSU in the 2005 national championship game and she replaces Alysiah Bond who left to become an assistant at Texas Tech. In addition MSU's career scoring leader, Tori Jankoska, is leaving her post at Maryland to join Agugua Hamilton's staff at Missouri State as an assistant coach.
