Michigan State to Face Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women’s basketball will be the No. 9 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will be held Wednesday-Sunday, March 6-10 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The No. 9-seeded Spartans (19-10, 9-9 B1G) will face No. 8-seeded Northwestern in the second round on Thursday, March 7 at 12 p.m. ET.

Regular season Big Ten Champion Maryland earned the No. 1 seed and will face the winner of the game between the Spartans and the Wildcats. Iowa captured the No. 2 seed, while Rutgers and Michigan captured the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.

The 2019 B1G Tournament begins on Wednesday, March 6 with No. 12-seeded Penn State facing No. 13-seeded Wisconsin at 1:30 p.m. Purdue is the No. 11 seed and will take on No. 14-seeded Illinois at 4 p.m.

MSU is the No. 9 seed in the B1G Tournament for the fourth time. The last time Michigan State was the No. 9 seed was in 2015 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, when the Spartans defeated Michigan in the second round before falling to Maryland in the quarterfinals. Overall, MSU is 1-3 as the No. 9 seed.

All 13 games of this year’s Big Ten Tournament will be televised live to a national audience, with the first round through semifinal games from Wednesday through Saturday broadcast on BTN, as well as on the FOX Sports app and through BTN’s digital extension, BTN2Go. The Big Ten Tournament championship game on March 10 will be televised live on ESPN2, as well as the WatchESPN platform and the ESPN app.

Single-session ticket prices vary from $8 to $16 depending on the session, while all-session tickets are available for $75. Other than suites and the fan blocks for that university’s respective games, the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament features general admission seating, allowing fans to witness the action from the best available seats at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
