McPherson Leans on Playing Experience to Help Lugnuts

LANSING, Mi The Lugnuts have a new manager this year in former MLB player Dallas McPherson. McPherson spent last year managing the Vancouver Canadians to a 40-36 record.

McPherson played parts of five seasons in the MLB with the Angels, Marlins and White Sox, tallying 18 career home runs. The new Lugnuts skipper visited Lansing as a player in 2002 when he played for Cedar Rapids in the Midwest League.

While he never thought he would end up managing, McPherson enjoys the job and believes he can use his playing experience to help his players.
