EAST LANSING, MI (WILX) -- The Michigan State Football team is on the road this weekend for a very tough game against the fourth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Mark Dantonio addressed the media Tuesday in East Lansing.
The MSU football team with its biggest test of the season so far coming up Saturday night in Columbus against Ohio State.
Dantonio knows the road to the Big Ten title goes through Columbus.
"The nice thing about football is every single week you have to prove it on the field and you have an opportunity. And it's zero-zero when you start. At the end of the day if you want to be Big Ten champions or East division champions, that road goes through Columbus. We know that, we expect that. That's been the norm here for quite some time now," Dantonio said.
"It's big. I think you know obviously they are a very good team and they compete for Big Ten championships every year so if we want to get to where we need to go, this will be one that we should win," Brian Lewerke, MSU quarterback said.
Ohio State has won three straight games against this rivalry series against the Spartans. Michigan State hopes to buck that trend at the 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday night.
The Spartans next home game isn't until Oct. 26 when they host the Penn State Nittany Lions.
