EAST LANSING, Mi Michigan State junior defensive back Justin Layne announced on his twitter Friday that he has declared for the NFL Draft and will forgo his senior season at MSU.
Layne posted this message on his twitter account announcing the decision: "Dear Spartan Nation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have supported me on my journey. I will always consider East Lansing home as I have made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. None of this would have been possible without the help and guidance of Coach (Mark) Dantonio and the entire coaching staff. It has been a privilege to develop as a player under their counsel, but more importantly to grow into a man. I promise to always represent our university with professionalism and class. Of course, I wouldn't be here without the help of my teammates. So thank you. I am grateful and humbled to be in the position that I am today. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to declare for the 2019 NFL draft. A special thank you to my family who have been extremely supportive in helping me achieve my goals and especially during this process. I am beyond excited for what the future holds.
"Go Green! Sincerely, Justin Layne"
Layne started all 12 games this year for the Spartans.
