Local wrestlers find great success at Ford Field

Multiple area wrestlers captured individual state titles at the wrestling finals at Ford Field.

St. Johns had two wrestlers capture state titles alone. Senior Kaleob Whitford won a state championship at 130 pounds. Freshman Jacob Brya won a state championship at 103 pounds. This makes it 11-straight years that the program has produced at least one individual state champion.

Portland senior Owen Guilford also was crowned a state champion at 171 pounds. He is the back-to-back champion at that weight in division 3.

Eaton Rapids junior Caleb Fish also captured a state title at 145.
