Local teams hoping to win big this weekend at Ford Field

DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) - Three local high school football teams will be hoping to leave Ford Field this weekend as State Champions.

The Reading Rangers will be playing in their first state championship game ever on Friday at 10 a.m. when then they face Breckenridge.

The Jackson Lumen Christi Titans will be looking to make it three consecutive state titles Friday when they take on Montague at 4:30.

The Portland Red Raiders take on Hudsonville Unity Christian Saturday.

Portland's last trip to Ford Field was in 2012 where the Red Raiders became State Champions.

Kick off for Saturday's game will be at 4:30.

News 10 will have coverage of all three games for you with Seth Wells all weekend.

And on Saturday, Mason and Holt Unified Flag Football teams will play during the State Finals.

Two exhibition games will be played at 9:40 - 10 a.m. with Mason playing against Sparta and Holt playing Brighton at opposite ends of the field.

On the teams are a total of 4 Mason High School students, 12 Holt High School students and 6 alumni from both districts.

Communications Specialist, Sara Parkinson described Unified Champion Schools as a place to create climates of inclusion, acceptance, respect and human dignity for ALL students.
