Lions Cut Former Spartan Cook

The Detroit Lions on Monday released former Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook. He was signed by the team on New Year's Day as a potential backup for starter Matthew Stafford. The Lions have now signed David Fales to replace Cook. Cook was originally drafted in the fourth round by the Oakland Raiders, but was cut last pre season by then first year head coach Jon Gruden. Cook was with the Lions for the team's mini camp last week in Allen Park.
