OKEMOS, Mich. (WILX) -- At the end of the night, the Okemos Chiefs stayed undefeated in the CAAC Blue.

It was their 12th conference win of the season was special, a great way to send off their six seniors.

"When I think about it, I get emotional," said Chiefs head coach Jeff Wonch. "It's a special group, when you talk about back-to-back CAAC Blue champions. To have seniors pushing the way through makes it a lot easier for the coach."

Evan Thomas was one of the guys making easier for Wonch.

"Evan was terrific in every facet of the game," said Wonch. "He's a tremendous leader, person, basketball player; I’m glad we could end senior night the way we did."

The back-to-back titles are as thrilling to Thomas as they are to Wonch; the five other seniors are like his brothers.

"We all hang out outside of basketball, so to share this moment with them is something special," Thomas said.

The exciting road to the Breslin Center stays in Okemos, as the Chiefs will host districts. It's win or go home; it's a chance for the six seniors to spend more time together.

"A tremendous group of kids, and I’m so proud we were able to go out like this for them," said Wonch.

"I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else," said Thomas. "I love these guys. This is so fun."
