Lansing getting first professional soccer team

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The city of Lansing is set to officially announce the formation of its first professional soccer team.

Mayor Andy Schor is scheduled to make the announcement regarding the Lansing Ignite at 4:00 PM.

News 10 informed you earlier this month that the Lansing City Council approved a deal that allows the team to play at the Cooley Law School Stadium.

The Ignite will begin playing in late March, with at least a dozen home games taking place in Lansing.
