LANSING, Mich. — Lansing United secured the number 1 seed for the United Women’s Soccer Midwest Region playoffs and will host a Semifinal match on Thursday July 11th at 7:00 p.m. against the #4 seed. A victory in that game would mean hosting the regional final on Sunday July 14th at 4:00 against the winner of the other semifinal. Both games will take place at the East Lansing Soccer Complex.
The second Midwest Region semifinal will be hosted by the Indiana Union, who are the second seed and they will face the third seed. That game will also take place on Thursday July 11th.
"The team has performed so well this season, all credit to Jason Crist and his coaching staff for getting the team ready to play and to the players who have given their all this summer for the club,” Lansing United President/CEO Jeremy Sampson said. “I’m excited for the Lansing and Mid-Michigan area to see some additional soccer this summer and the players are looking forward to having a home field advantage."
Lansing United will conclude the regular season this Sunday July 7th when the Michigan Legends come to the East Lansing Soccer Complex for a 4 p.m. kickoff. Tickets are available on the Lansing United website where fans save $2 off youth and adult tickets.
The Hoops claimed the top spot after the UWS ruled the game against the Indiana Union was ruled a 1-0 victory for United.
