(WILX) -- The NCAA transfer rule is rapidly becoming the most controversial of its lot.
The original rule and its intent was to have all division one athletes on scholarship sit out a year if they transfer elsewhere.
Now appeals are involved and more and more transfer players, like Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson, are eligible to play immediately.
But Michigan State basketball transfer Joey Hauser must sit out the coming season meaning MSU must pay for two years of him on scholarship to get one year of play.
Doesn't seem even across the board.
