MASON, Mich. (WILX) -- The 11-1 Hornets managed to keep their league winning streak alive at 5 with a convincing win on the road over the Mason Bulldogs. Williamston relied heavily on Case Conely, who got the start tonight after spending most of the season coming off the bench.
"We kind of have 6 starters, we're rotating a bit, but he made some nice passes inside the zone and hit a late three, so he made some players to get us going there," said Head Coach Tom Lewis.
The 11-1 hornets are enjoying their time in the CAAC Red. Being in a new division, the Hornets are seeing some new foes. They haven't played Mason in 15 years.
"This is our first year in the Red, we moved up from the White last year, coming into a different gym and getting a road win on a Friday means a lot," said Lewis. "Friday nights in the CAAC Red is a huge priority for us. It's a trophy we're trying to win."
There's not much of a weekend break for the Hornets. They've got a quick turnaround, they play Glen Lake on Monday, and Waverly on Tuesday.
