Game of the Week: Haslett has shot at redemption against Williamston

HASLETT, Mich. (WILX) -- To some, Friday night means just another game of the week, but on Friday night, in the world of high school hoops, this could be the most important we've had yet.

The last time Haslett and Williamston met, a league championship was on the line.

Friday night's Game of the Week means so much more. The winner between Haslett and Williamston moves on to the regional semifinals in the MHSAA playoffs. The loser goes home.

When these two teams met two weeks ago, the Hornets came into Viking territory and beat up on Haslett, 59-30, to claim the CAAC Red.

After the game, Williamston coach Tom Lewis said the team needed to look ahead to districts and said these two teams would meet again.

Lo and behold, the Haslett Vikings have a chance to knock off the league champions at home.

Coming up on News 10 at 6, Seth Wells will tell you more about why this game is so important for both teams.
