HS Football Makeup: Trojans shut out Redwings, Quakers snap losing streak

There was high school football on the say that Mother Nature intended: Friday.

Plenty of games from Thursday night were postponed after lightning delayed much of the area's activity.

The East Lansing Trojans held off St. Johns Friday afternoon, thanks to second half touchdowns from Andrel Anthony and Alex Hosey.

The Redwings threatened, but two of their drives were stalled by Trojan interceptions.

East Lansing moves to 1-0 with the 27-0 win over St. Johns.

The Lansing Eastern Quakers' game against Owosso was also suspended. They held a 35-0 lead in the third, and held on Friday to break a 38-game losing streak, beating the Trojans by the same score.

The game was at the Quakers' new stadium; Lansing Eastern hasn't had their own home field in over 50 years.

The Mason Bulldogs shut out the Okemos Chiefs on Friday, after taking a 14-9 lead into Thursday's delay.

The Bulldogs held Okemos to few yards, and intercepted a second half pass.

Mason moves to 1-0 with their 14-9 win over Okemos.

The Holt Rams started off on the right foot with a 35-17 win over the Caledonia Fighting Scots.

Senior Running Back Logan VanEnkevort scored late in the fourth to pad the Rams' lead to two scores.
