DeWitt takes on East Lansing in Friday night's Game of the Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- A battle of the undefeated tonight in our Sports Blitz Game of the Week.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m., as the DeWitt Panthers try to spoil homecoming for the East Lansing Trojans.

It's the midway point in the 2018 high school football season.

Tonight's Game of the Week showcases two of the five undefeated squads in the Capital Area Activities Conference in DeWitt and East Lansing.

But despite being 4-0, both teams are still searching for an identity.

After DeWitt's 39-0 win over Okemos in week 3, coach Rob Zimmerman expressed his concern in the lack of consistency he saw from his offense. Now, in week 5, he thinks the team on that side of the ball has improved drastically.

"I think we played as well as you can play on offense last week. The kids were a little more dialed in, and they've had some great practices this week, so hopefully they can carry that over into Friday night," said Zimmerman.

"I'm more worried about where we're going to be Oct. 19, 20, and 21. We've done some things very well, and there are some things that we need to work on and improve. At this midway point of the season, we're going to find out a lot about ourselves," said East Lansing football head coach Bill Feraco.

After Friday night, there will be a maximum of three teams without a loss this season, and we should expect an intense matchup between two powerhouses, under the lights, and under thousands of fans.
